We are proud to announce today, on the first day of LGBTI+ Pride Month, that we have committed to upholding and supporting the United Nations’ LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business, further strengthening our commitment to creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for current and future Proximites.
These guidelines, set by the United Nations, allow companies to show they are supporters of the LGBTI+ community and actively tackle all forms of discrimination in the workplace. The guidelines align closely with Proxima’s mission statement to remove barriers and equitably empower all our employees to thrive and develop in an inclusive and welcoming environment. As such, the guidelines will enable us to continue to embrace diversity and foster inclusivity.
At Proxima, we have several initiatives in action each day to foster an inclusive and collaborative workplace, such as our Gender Equality Network Committee, which provides an open, supportive, and safe environment to discuss topics relating to gender and LGBTI+ equality. Prior to our commitment to the UN LGBTI Standards, Proxima has consistently shown support for the LGBTI+ community through the publication of our DEI policy as well as an extensive DEI Framework which is managed by a DEI Governance Committee.
Our teams understand the benefits of a diverse workplace that embraces each person for who they are. Our commitment to the UN LGBTI Standards will only strengthen our work on this front moving forward.
