International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration that recognizes the achievements of women and addresses the challenges they face. The theme for IWD 2024 is “Inspire Inclusion.”

At Proxima, inclusion is a core value of our business, and we aim to be an inspirational place to work, regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity.

For us, this year’s theme signifies:

– Inspiring Others: When we inspire people to understand and value women’s inclusion, we contribute to a better world. It’s about fostering a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

– Empowering Women: When women themselves are inspired to be included, they gain a stronger voice, greater opportunities, and a sense of purpose.

WHY INCLUSION MATTERS

1. Economic Empowerment
Inclusion is not just a moral imperative; it’s also good for business. Companies that actively include women in their workforce benefit from diverse perspectives, creativity, and innovation.

2. Gender Pay Gap and Work-Life Balance
The gender pay gap refers to the disparity in earnings between men and women in the workforce. It remains a critical issue, impacting women’s financial security and overall work-life balance, and is something that Proxima is actively addressing.

TAKING ACTION

Education and Tools: To inspire inclusion, we need greater access to education, financial services, and tools for women’s success.

Leadership Positions: We must remove barriers preventing women from reaching leadership positions.

Businesses: By investing in women, businesses can accelerate progress, boost economic growth, and create a more inclusive world.

International Women’s Day is a collective call to action. Let’s celebrate women’s achievements, inspire inclusion, and work together to create a world where all women are valued, respected, and empowered

At Proxima, we are committed to ensuring that we are promoting gender equality both within the business and beyond. In 2021 a group of Proxima colleagues founded our Gender Equality Network (GEN) an inclusive, safe space for everyone to share experiences, information, and educational material, to facilitate the conversation and help promote gender equality.

Let’s talk.
