Our client is a global leader in retail and a wholesale pharmacy store that specializes in beauty, health, and wellness products through convenient retail locations. The client was looking to accelerate further digital programs that would advance customer innovation, drive operating efficiencies, and optimize costs.
Challenge
As part of a global transformation strategy, Proxima’s client expanded their strategic IT services partnership to launch a new operating model for IT run and operational services. This program required a fully invested team to carry out several critical sourcing activities in a very short time frame. The client called on Proxima to provide specialist capacity and capability.
Approach
The client needed to determine how to move from a fragmented delivery model into a consolidated global IT-run operation. Our team first defined the program’s commercial strategy and governance models and subsequently went on to deliver commercial work streams, including data analysis, contract reviews, risk assessments, and making or buying assessments for targeted services/ applications. We then defined the supplier engagement and internal/ external communications strategy, as well as managing supplier exit plans.
RESULTS
Our team partnered with key stakeholders to properly scope more than 900 applications and service functions targeted for transition, developing a discovery and validation model that proved to be 97% accurate and a third-party commercial process design that allowed an accelerated yet seamless and precise transition of services over a nine-month period. The program also delivers a 50% annual operating expenses (OPEX) cost reduction for global IT-run operations.
