How Labels & Thermal Rolls Are Made
From paper base to finished rollThermal direct labels have a heat-sensitive coating that turns black when heated by the print head. No ribbon needed — ideal for shipping labels, barcodes, and short-term use (6-12 months).

Base Paper
Woodfree paper (60-80gsm) is produced with smooth surface. The base provides dimensional stability and printability.

Thermal Coating
A leuco dye + developer + binder coating is applied. When heated to 70°C by the print head, the dye reacts with the developer, creating a permanent dark mark.

Adhesive & Die Cutting
Permanent or removable adhesive is laminated to the back with silicone release liner. Rotary die cutters punch individual labels at 100m/min.

Rolling & QC
Labels are wound onto 25/40/76mm cores. Each roll is checked: label count accuracy, adhesion test, thermal sensitivity test. Packed into cartons.
Thermal transfer labels use a wax/resin ribbon to transfer ink onto the label surface. This creates durable, long-lasting prints resistant to water, chemicals, and UV — ideal for asset tracking and product labels.

Face Material
Options: semi-gloss paper, matte paper, polypropylene (PP), or polyester (PET). Material choice depends on durability needs and environment.

Ribbon Matching
Wax ribbon for paper labels, wax-resin for coated papers, full resin for synthetics. The ribbon melts onto the label surface when heated by the print head.

Converting & QC
Die cut to size, wound onto cores (standard 500-5000 labels/roll). Black mark or gap sensing verified. Print test with actual ribbon before shipping.
POS thermal rolls are used in receipt printers, card terminals, and ticketing machines. The thermal coating turns black on contact with the heated print head — no ink or ribbon needed.

Jumbo Roll Production
Base paper (48-65gsm) is coated with thermal layer in a single pass. Jumbo rolls are 1,500mm wide and up to 12,000m long.

Slitting & Winding
Jumbo rolls are slit to width (57mm or 80mm) and wound onto cardboard cores. Standard lengths: 30m (57mm) to 80m (80mm). BPA-free options available.

Wrapping & Packing
Each roll is shrink-wrapped individually. Packed into display boxes (10-50 rolls) then master cartons. Weight and length verified by inline sensors.
